After extensive work on the siderod bearings, #113 made her first trip away from the Minersville Station to Schuylkill Haven, to help the community celebrate their 29th annual Borough Day. Reading & Northern engineer Christopher Bost piloted the engine in each direction, and we kept the fire hot all day in Haven so people could visit the cab and (occasionally) blow the whistle (we did not want to drive everyone crazy); many more people got to ring the bell!
Thanks to our friends at the Reading & Northern for their ongoing partnership in helping us share our locomotive with everyone.
In these photos by one of our volunteers, Nathan Kelly, 113 leaves her home on the station track in Minersville on the morning of Schuylkill Haven Borough Day and heads south by way of Westwood Junction.
#113 PULLED SANTA TRAINS ON SUNDAY, THE 3RD OF DECEMBER!

The only steam-powered Santa trains in Northeastern PA!
Three trains, leaving Minersville at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 and 3:30 p.m.

The Reading & Northern's passenger department has set ticket prices as free for all children under 3 years old; $9 each for every child ages 3-12; and $14 each for everyone over 12.
In this photo by one of our volunteers, 113 trails the train as it heads south through West Cressona, a Reading & Northern diesel on the other end leading.
